What is a basic domain list, and how does it differ from a detailed dataset?
Both cover the same 30,262 registered domain names in the .tl zone. A basic list is one domain name per line in a gzip CSV. A detailed dataset adds the nameservers, the server IP and its country, the hostname, emails and phone numbers found on the website, and, where the registry publishes them, the registration and expiration dates and the registrar. How often are .tl datasets updated?
The .tl zone is a country-code (ccTLD) zone, and its registry zone file is not directly accessible. NetAPI discovers .tl domains through large-scale crawls: newly discovered domains are added to the list daily, and the full dataset is rebuilt every one to two months. See how updates work.
Can I download only newly registered .tl domains?
Not for this zone. Newly discovered .tl domains are merged into the active list daily, but there is no separate new-domains file for .tl. Daily new-domains lists exist for the zones marked as updated daily in the datasets catalog.
What format and size is the file?
Every .tl domain list and dataset is a CSV file compressed with gzip (.csv.gz).
The basic list has one domain name per line. The detailed dataset has one row per domain with the additional data listed in the
dataset format details.
The current .tl files are about 259 KB (basic list)
and 349 KB (detailed dataset) compressed.
Any archiver opens gzip files; on Windows, for example, the free
7-Zip.
Through the API you can also download the files uncompressed (format=plain).

Are emails and phone numbers available for every domain?
No. We collect contact details from public websites when available. Many domains have no published email or phone, and we do not guarantee these fields on every row. Do not use the data for unsolicited bulk outreach.
Additional .TL Zone / Registry Information
The country's first extension, .tp, was assigned in May 1997 when the territory was still known as Portuguese Timor and remained in use until 2005. The registry kept a transition period until 2015 so that site owners could move to .tl before the old domain was retired.
Names are available directly at the second level and under subdomains such as .com.tl and .gov.tl; some categories are reserved for entities associated with Timor-Leste, while direct registration is open to anyone worldwide. Businesses and individuals linked to the region use .tl to present themselves as local brands.
