Both formats include the same set of domains.
A basic domain list contains only domain names (one domain per line). The detailed dataset adds the fields listed below.

Every row of a detailed zone dataset has these fields, in this order:
Domain Name - the registered domain nameMajestic Rank - the domain's Majestic rank, empty when the domain is not rankedDNS 1, DNS 2 - the first two nameservers of the domainHostname - the hostname of the server IP (reverse DNS)Emails - email addresses found on the website, comma-separated in one fieldPhone Numbers - phone numbers found on the website, comma-separated in one fieldServer IP - the IP address the domain resolved toServer Country (by IP) - the two-letter country code of that IPRegistered At - the registration date (YYYY-MM-DD), where the registry publishes itExpiring At - the expiration date (YYYY-MM-DD), where the registry publishes itRegistrar - the registrar name, where the registry publishes itWHOIS Checked At - the date of our latest WHOIS/RDAP check of the domainWebsite fields (hostname, emails, phone numbers, IP, country) are filled for domains with a reachable website and stay empty otherwise. The datasets by DNS provider and by registrar use a slightly different set of columns, listed on the API page.
When we say "active domains", we mean all delegated (?) domains. That is, they have at least one DNS (nameserver) assigned to them (i.e., they appear in the global zone files).
If a domain is not delegated, it is absent from zone files and from our lists. Non-delegated domains are a small fraction of all registered domains, so they can usually be ignored.
Since we update our data every day, we track which domains have appeared in the global zone files. Based on this difference, we compile our lists of new domains, and in the same way our lists of deleted domains: names that were in the zone the day before and are missing from it today. Deleted domains are available as lists only, for the zones whose registry publishes the complete zone every day.
A deleted domain is not necessarily free to register. It has dropped out of the zone because its registration expired or it was suspended or undelegated. After the expiration date a domain normally goes through a renewal grace period and a redemption period, typically 30 to 75 days depending on the zone, during which the holder can still restore it, and only after a short pending-delete period is it released for registration. Names that get renewed or unsuspended return to the zone and appear in the list of new domains again. Check the actual status with a WHOIS or RDAP lookup before relying on it.
Most zones are updated every day, including many country-code ones such as .ru, .fr, .ch or .se: their registry publishes the complete zone daily, and the lists of new and deleted domains follow it. The zone files of some country-code TLDs, however, are not publicly accessible; these zones show N/A in the New domains column of our tables.
For those zones our crawlers scan hundreds of millions of domains each month and discover country-code domains through cross-references. After additional checks, these domains are added to our datasets, so most country-code domains are included. Because this data is collected indirectly, such zones are not fully refreshed every day: newly discovered domains are added daily, and a full refresh runs every one to two months.
In simple terms, these are lists of domains that use a particular DNS provider (e.g., Cloudflare). You can download (manually or via API) a list of domains that use one of our supported DNS providers. The file format is similar to the standard one (you can choose between a basic list and a dataset).

Please do not use this data for unsolicited bulk email. It may be used for targeted outreach only after careful filtering and in compliance with applicable laws. Emails and phone numbers are collected from publicly available information on the websites associated with the domains in the dataset. Many sites do not publish contact details, so we do not guarantee that email or phone fields will be available for every domain.
