Frequently Asked Questions

See our FAQ for more answers.

Can I download sample datasets for the .am zone?

Yes. Download a sample .am domain list or a sample .am dataset.

What is a basic domain list, and how does it differ from a detailed dataset?

Both cover the same 27,938 registered domain names in the .am zone. A basic list is one domain name per line in a gzip CSV. A detailed dataset adds DNS servers, server IP, hostname, emails, phone numbers, and more. See the dataset format details.

How often are .am datasets updated?

The .am zone is a country-code (ccTLD) zone, and its registry zone file is not directly accessible. NetAPI discovers .am domains through large-scale crawls: newly discovered domains are added to the list daily, and the full dataset is rebuilt every one to two months. See how updates work.

Can I download only newly registered .am domains?

Not for this zone. Newly discovered .am domains are merged into the active list daily, but there is no separate new-domains file for .am. Daily new-domains lists exist for the zones marked as updated daily in the datasets catalog.

What format and size is the file?

Every .am domain list and dataset is a CSV file compressed with gzip (.csv.gz): the basic list has one domain name per line, the detailed dataset has one row per domain with the columns described in the dataset format details. Compressed, the current .am basic list is about 140 KB and the detailed dataset about 375 KB. Any archiver opens gzip files, for example the free 7-Zip on Windows, and the API can also serve the files uncompressed (format=plain).

How do I automate daily downloads?

Schedule automatic downloads through the API. See the API documentation for authentication and endpoints.

Are emails and phone numbers available for every domain?

No. We collect contact details from public websites when available. Many domains have no published email or phone, and we do not guarantee these fields on every row. Do not use the data for unsolicited bulk outreach.

The .am is the country code top-level domain introduced on August 26, 1994, for Armenia, a small region located in the Caucasus Mountains. It is managed by the Internet Society of Armenia, which is a non-profit organization that caters primarily to businesses or individuals associated with this region. It helps the sites have a strong connection with the local audience after building a brand identity.

Despite being relevant to Armenia, it is also used in the radio industry because of the word “am” which is relevant to the abbreviation of Amplitude Modulation. This enables the TLD to have a worldwide popularity among its users. Its main purpose is to boost the visibility, trust, and credibility of entities linked with the region among their potential visitors.

The popularity continued to increase with a positive impact on its users that paved the way for a second top-level domain, հայ (“hy”). It was introduced in 2014 and officially launched in 2016 for businesses willing to describe the website context in Armenian language.
