Frequently Asked Questions

See our FAQ for more answers.

Can I download sample datasets for the .ge zone?

Yes. Download a sample .ge domain list or a sample .ge dataset.

What is a basic domain list, and how does it differ from a detailed dataset?

Both cover the same 30,995 registered domain names in the .ge zone. A basic list is one domain name per line in a gzip CSV. A detailed dataset adds the nameservers, the server IP and its country, the hostname, emails and phone numbers found on the website, and, where the registry publishes them, the registration and expiration dates and the registrar. The full list of columns is in the dataset format details.

How often are .ge datasets updated?

The .ge zone is a country-code (ccTLD) zone, and its registry zone file is not directly accessible. NetAPI discovers .ge domains through large-scale crawls: newly discovered domains are added to the list daily, and the full dataset is rebuilt every one to two months. See how updates work.

Can I download only newly registered .ge domains?

Not for this zone. Newly discovered .ge domains are merged into the active list daily, but there is no separate new-domains file for .ge. Daily new-domains lists exist for the zones marked as updated daily in the datasets catalog.

What format and size is the file?

Every .ge domain list and dataset is a CSV file compressed with gzip (.csv.gz). The basic list has one domain name per line. The detailed dataset has one row per domain with the additional data listed in the dataset format details. The current .ge files are about 140 KB (basic list) and 429 KB (detailed dataset) compressed. Any archiver opens gzip files; on Windows, for example, the free 7-Zip. Through the API you can also download the files uncompressed (format=plain).

How do I automate daily downloads?

Schedule automatic downloads through the API. See the API documentation for authentication and endpoints.

Are emails and phone numbers available for every domain?

No. We collect contact details from public websites when available. Many domains have no published email or phone, and we do not guarantee these fields on every row. Do not use the data for unsolicited bulk outreach.

Additional .GE Zone / Registry Information

Caucasus Online — .ge registry logo

Zone Registry: Caucasus Online

Registry Policy: link

The .ge domain is the country-code top-level domain of Georgia, a country at the junction of Europe and Asia. It was created in 1992 after Georgian independence from the Soviet Union and was initially intended for organisations. Since 2008 it has been administered by Caucasus Online, a Georgian internet service provider.

Any entity resident in or associated with Georgia can register the domain, and businesses that want a local presence use it in preference to generic extensions.

Besides direct second-level names, there are subdomains for specific categories, including .gov.ge for government bodies, .edu.ge for educational institutions and .mil.ge for the military. Registration of second-level names is open to anyone worldwide, and the Georgian-script counterpart .გე is run by the same registry.
