Free daily ranking of the most popular sites on the Internet

Rankings of popular websites are widely used for research, security checks, and large-scale web crawls. After the Alexa Top 1 Million list was discontinued, many teams still need a simple, regularly updated Top 1M file in a familiar CSV format.

The NetAPI Top 1M is a free CSV ranking of the one million most popular websites worldwide.

The ranking blends SEO / link-graph signals and traffic-oriented signals (DNS query popularity and real-user Chrome experience data). Scores are fused with reciprocal rank fusion so no single noisy source dominates the final order. Hostnames are reduced to base domains using NetAPI's TLD map.

Domains are listed from most popular to less popular (rank 1 = highest). The list is regenerated every day. Download is free - no account or API token required.

File format

Plain CSV with a header row. Columns:

NetAPI_Rank - integer rank from 1 to 1,000,000 (1 = most popular)
Domain - domain name without subdomain (e.g. google.com, not www.google.com)

Rows are ordered by ascending rank (most popular first). Example:

How is the ranking calculated?

We combine open popularity inputs that capture both authority / SEO-style and traffic-style evidence. Ranks from each source are merged with reciprocal rank fusion into a single ordered Top 1M list. NetAPI's zone pipeline has historically monitored 455,038,891 domain names. The result is a synthetic popularity approximation - not a panel of exact page views - designed for research, security checks, large-scale web crawls, and Alexa-style Top 1M workflows.

Is registration required?
