Frequently Asked Questions

See our FAQ for more answers.

Can I download sample datasets for the .link zone?

Yes. Download a sample .link domain list or a sample .link dataset.

What is a basic domain list, and how does it differ from a detailed dataset?

Both cover the same 404,202 registered domain names in the .link zone. A basic list is one domain name per line in a gzip CSV. A detailed dataset adds DNS servers, server IP, hostname, emails, phone numbers, and more. See the dataset format details.

What are active and new domains?

Datasets for .link are updated daily. Active domains are all currently registered names in the zone. New domains are names added in the last 24 hours.

Can I download only newly registered .link domains?

Yes. The New domains list contains only the .link domains registered in the last 24 hours and is rebuilt every day. To download it manually, sign in and click the number in the New domains column of the download table on this page (the Download button next to it gets the full list of active domains). Through the API, call /api2/?method=download&zone_tld=link&dataset_type=list&filter_type=new&token=YOUR_API_TOKEN (dataset_type=dataset for the detailed dataset); see the API documentation.

What format and size is the file?

Every .link domain list and dataset is a CSV file compressed with gzip (.csv.gz): the basic list has one domain name per line, the detailed dataset has one row per domain with the columns described in the dataset format details. Compressed, the current .link basic list is about 2.2 MB and the detailed dataset about 5.6 MB. Any archiver opens gzip files, for example the free 7-Zip on Windows, and the API can also serve the files uncompressed (format=plain).

How do I automate daily downloads?

Schedule automatic downloads through the API. See the API documentation for authentication and endpoints.

Are emails and phone numbers available for every domain?

No. We collect contact details from public websites when available. Many domains have no published email or phone, and we do not guarantee these fields on every row. Do not use the data for unsolicited bulk outreach.

Applicable to all businesses and organizations, the .link domain is a generic top-level domain established in the Domain Name System. It is ideal for making online connections across the globe and is widely used by professional networking sites. Introduced in 2014, this domain extension has grown over the years within a short time.

The .link domain has crossed over 100,000 registered domains and is adopted by tech sites that focus on interacting with an online audience. It is managed and administered by Uniregistry, a popular company that operates multiple other generic top-level domains.

With the .link domain in your website name, you can target a broader online audience and build your credibility on a local and international scale. It has no sub-level domains, and registrations are open to everyone at the direct domain level. No specific country documentation or strict policies are required to register for the .link domain.
