Frequently Asked Questions

See our FAQ for more answers.

Can I download sample datasets for the .express zone?

Yes. Download a sample .express domain list or a sample .express dataset.

What is a basic domain list, and how does it differ from a detailed dataset?

Both cover the same 10,521 registered domain names in the .express zone. A basic list is one domain name per line in a gzip CSV. A detailed dataset adds DNS servers, server IP, hostname, emails, phone numbers, and more. See the dataset format details.

What are active and new domains?

Datasets for .express are updated daily. Active domains are all currently registered names in the zone. New domains are names added in the last 24 hours.

Can I download only newly registered .express domains?

Yes. The New domains list contains only the .express domains registered in the last 24 hours and is rebuilt every day. To download it manually, sign in and click the number in the New domains column of the download table on this page (the Download button next to it gets the full list of active domains). Through the API, call /api2/?method=download&zone_tld=express&dataset_type=list&filter_type=new&token=YOUR_API_TOKEN (dataset_type=dataset for the detailed dataset); see the API documentation.

What format and size is the file?

Every .express domain list and dataset is a CSV file compressed with gzip (.csv.gz): the basic list has one domain name per line, the detailed dataset has one row per domain with the columns described in the dataset format details. Compressed, the current .express basic list is about 44 KB and the detailed dataset about 179 KB. Any archiver opens gzip files, for example the free 7-Zip on Windows, and the API can also serve the files uncompressed (format=plain).

How do I automate daily downloads?

Schedule automatic downloads through the API. See the API documentation for authentication and endpoints.

Are emails and phone numbers available for every domain?

No. We collect contact details from public websites when available. Many domains have no published email or phone, and we do not guarantee these fields on every row. Do not use the data for unsolicited bulk outreach.

Top-level domains (TLDs) .express have a reputation for speed, efficiency, and urgency. This domain is often used by companies and services that emphasize quick shipping and immediate response. These companies, including news outlets, e-commerce platforms, and courier services, want to create a specific online space where they can advertise their reliable and quick services. The main perk of using a .express domain is its capacity to convey your website's or business's identity to your clients instantly. A website with a .express at the end of the address indicates to prospective clients that the content or services are related to prompt and effective delivery or transportation.

The generic top-level domain (gTLD) .express was launched on May 8, 2014, by ICANN. Since its inception, this domain has been managed by Donuts Inc., a registrar of domain names renowned for its wide range of offerings and security.

Since .express domains are still somewhat new, this indicates that the likelihood of getting a distinctive domain name of your choice is quite high.
