The .ing is not a traditional top-level domain, but a domain hack to spell out the full word in the URL. It was launched on August 30, 2014, with the purpose of privately owning this domain for creative branding. As for the word working, an entity can use the .ing TLD as work.ing to combine the words as a site name.

Such domains are managed by the respective ccTLDs relevant to a specific country and are linked to businesses or organizations. Because of its unique features and purpose, .ing is relatively more expensive than other TLDs. However, no government entity has used .ing as its domain name until now.

Although it is unique, you'll find it common in words because of its usage in English. It hasn't gained any popularity since 2014, but a sudden spike was recorded at the end of 2023. Until this year, almost 19410 registrations have been recorded, highlighting the start of its popularity among users.
