What is a basic domain list, and how does it differ from a detailed dataset?
Both cover the same 25,066 registered domain names in the .bot zone. A basic list is one domain name per line in a gzip CSV. A detailed dataset adds DNS servers, server IP, hostname, emails, phone numbers, and more. See the dataset format details.
What are active and new domains?
Datasets for .bot are updated daily. Active domains are all currently registered names in the zone. New domains are names added in the last 24 hours.
Can I download only newly registered .bot domains?
Yes. The New domains list contains only the .bot domains registered in the last 24 hours and is rebuilt every day.

Can I download deleted .bot domains?
Yes. The Deleted domains list contains the .bot domains that were in the zone the day before and have dropped out of it, so it covers the last 24 hours and is rebuilt every day. Deleted domains are available as a list of domain names only, there is no detailed dataset for them.
A deleted domain is not necessarily free to register. The list records names that have dropped out of the .bot zone: the registration expired, or the domain was suspended or undelegated. After the expiration date a domain normally goes through a renewal grace period and a redemption period, typically 30 to 75 days depending on the zone, during which the current holder can still restore it, and only after a short pending-delete period is it released for registration. Some names return to the zone when the holder renews or a suspension is lifted, and then appear in the New domains list again.
What format and size is the file?
Every .bot domain list and dataset is a CSV file compressed with gzip (.csv.gz):
the basic list has one domain name per line, the detailed dataset has one row per domain with the columns described in the
dataset format details.
Compressed, the current .bot basic list is about 100 KB and the detailed dataset about 433 KB.
Any archiver opens gzip files, for example the free
7-Zip on Windows,
and the API can also serve the files uncompressed (format=plain).
How do I automate daily downloads?

Are emails and phone numbers available for every domain?
No. We collect contact details from public websites when available. Many domains have no published email or phone, and we do not guarantee these fields on every row. Do not use the data for unsolicited bulk outreach.
Additional .BOT Zone / Registry Information
For several years registration was limited to verified bots: an applicant had to show that the bot delivered real functionality, for example through Amazon Lex, Microsoft Bot Framework or Dialogflow, before a name was granted. This validation set .bot apart from other extensions and maintained its quality.
Since 2024 the restriction has been lifted, and .bot is open to anyone. It remains a natural address for AI assistants, automation tools and robotics companies.
