Can I download sample domain lists or datasets?

Sure! Click here to download a sample domain list or here to download a sample dataset.

I downloaded the file, and it's too big. I can't open it in Excel!

Some popular zones contain tens of millions of records. After downloading the file, use 7zip to unpack it and ModernCSV editor to view its contents.

What is a basic domain list, and how does it differ from a detailed dataset?

Both datasets include the same number of domains.

A simple domain list contains _only_ a list of domains (one domain per line). The detailed dataset also contains additional fields, such as DNS servers, IP addresses, emails, and phone numbers found on the corresponding domains/websites, etc.

You can download a sample domain list here 💾, and a sample dataset here 💾.

What are "active" and "new" domains?

When we say “active domains,” we mean all delegated (?) domains. That is, they have at least one DNS server assigned to them (i.e., they appear in the global zone files).

If a domain is not delegated, it is absent from global zone files and our list. Non-delegated domains are an insignificant part of delegated domains, so they can be neglected.

Since we update our data every day, we understand which domains have appeared in and which have disappeared from the global zone lists. Based on this difference, we compile our lists of deleted and new domains.

Why don't you provide daily updates for country code zones?

Country code domain registries (zone files) are not accessible to third parties.

However, our search spiders crawl hundreds of millions of different domains every month. They find cross-references to such country domains. After various checks, the found domain names are exported to the dataset. Thus, the majority of country code domain names are included in the datasets. However, these datasets are not fully updated on a daily basis.

What are domain lists by DNS provider?

Simply put, they are lists of domains that use a particular DNS service (e.g., Cloudflare). You can download (manually or via API) a list of domains that use one of our supported DNS providers. The file format is similar to the standard one (you can choose between a simple list and a dataset).

I need to set up a daily import of domain lists to my server. I don't want to download it manually every day. What should I do?

For the convenience of other developers, we have created a special and very convenient API, which allows you to download both any selected dataset individually and the total dataset of all domains at once. Read the full API description here.

The detailed dataset contains emails and phone numbers. Are they for every domain?

Please do not use our data for mass mailings. They can be used for targeted cold outreach, but only after careful filtering and in compliance with applicable laws. We take emails and phone numbers from the websites of the respective dataset domains. Of course, many sites do not have these data, so we do not guarantee that these data are present in the dataset for a particular domain.

Are there contract commitments, or can I subscribe on a month-to-month basis?

You pay monthly and can unsubscribe at any time in your dasboard.

What are some common use cases for NetAPI?

  • Data Enrichment and Lead Generation. Companies can integrate NetAPI to supplement their existing data – adding detailed business information, contact details, or social signals – to build more accurate customer profiles and identify high-potential leads.
  • Real-time intelligence on newly registered domains, enabling security teams to quickly spot malicious URLs, detect emerging phishing campaigns, and uncover brand impersonation attempts. Identify suspicious domains newly registered for phishing campaigns.
  • Brand Protection. The advantage of catching trademark infringements and brand squatters early. Protect customers from phishing attempts using domain names that closely mimic your brand.
  • A tool for domain investors (“Domainers”). Position your product as a way to spot trending keywords and new domain availability. Track the popularity of various top-level domains (TLDs) and how usage shifts over time. Monitor which domains are parked or inactive but show potential for reactivation or monetization. Build an internal or public-facing tool to check domain availability across multiple TLDs. Keep track of how many domains your competitors own at a glance.
  • Market Research and Competitive Analysis. With access to diverse data domains, businesses can track market trends, benchmark their performance against competitors, and uncover insights about industry shifts that inform strategic planning. Track competitor domain portfolios (e.g., new product launches hinted by new domain registrations). See which TLDs competitors focus on or expansions in different regions. Also, a sudden influx of registrations for a certain keyword or brand can signal hype!
  • Brand & Affiliate Compliance. For companies with affiliate programs, ensure affiliates aren’t infringing on brand guidelines.
  • Fraud Detection and Risk Management. The comprehensive data sets provided by NetAPI can help organizations verify identities, assess creditworthiness, and spot anomalies, thus playing a crucial role in reducing fraud and managing risk. Correlate IP addresses and domain ownership patterns to flag potential scammers. Correlate domain or IP data with known threat feeds or blocklists.
  • Enhancing Business Intelligence and Analytics. Developers and data teams can integrate NetAPI with existing BI tools or custom dashboards. This integration enables real-time monitoring and deeper analysis of key performance metrics, empowering better decision-making.
  • Bug bounty hunters. Track newly registered or recently updated domains associated with a target company or its brands. Spot and report phishing or impersonation attempts before they cause harm. Find unexpected subdomains or shadow IT assets, extending the scope of a bug hunt and revealing unknown entry points. Correlate NetAPI domain insights with known vulnerabilities, open ports, or misconfigured services.
  • SEO & Keyword Research. Explore newly registered domains for popular keywords to see trending niches.
  • Regulatory Compliance (KYC / AML). Combine domain and IP details to validate the identity of business partners or customers.
